
Claudia Garcia
Director of Human Resources
Claudia Garcia joined the Tennessee Athletics staff in November 2022 as the Human Resources Coordinator and was promoted to Director of Human Resources in July 2024. She manages all aspects of the employee life cycle for 300+ regular athletics staff and serves as the primary point of contact for all facets within athletics human resources including, but not limited to, payroll, compensation, recruiting, retention, benefits, and workplace inquiries.
Prior to joining Tennessee Athletics, Garcia worked for the global employee well-being software company, Limeade, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington.
She began her career in intercollegiate athletics at the University of Alabama as an intern with Crimson Tide Hospitality, later becoming the Director of Knights Hospitality at the University of Central Florida overseeing all premium seating and hospitality areas for the football, basketball and baseball facilities. Her premium seating and hospitality experience also spans large-scale championship events, including the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff National Championship.
A native of Los Angeles, California, Garcia earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Ethics in 2012 from Loyola Marymount University. She completed her master’s degrees in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University in 2014 and Human Performance with a Sport Management concentration from the University of Alabama in 2017.
Claudia is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
